Scenes from the Countryside

Ed Lewis, Trumpet

Vaughan Williams   English Folk Song Suite
Beethoven     Symphony No. 6, "Pastorale"
Hummel     Concerto for Trumpet in E

This opening concert will delight you with the charming melodies of Beethoven’s well-loved Pastoral Symphony, a recollection of the feelings of country life. Equally fresh are the three folk song melodies of Vaughan Williams’ classic suite. To round out the sparkling music of the afternoon, we bring back the amazing Ed Lewis on trumpet.  If you didn’t hear his brilliant performance back in 2008, then you definitely need to catch this one!
